Madison, Part 3: Capital and Dela's Diner

Next stop for Madison was the downtown area. I believe this is looking from the south lake, up into the city. Big Lake to someone like me.



Here is the capital building. This photo was taken by Scott on an earlier visit. As you can see there are no leaves on the trees.


We got to go to a "balcony" like area and these are several views surrounding the capital building.








Back down a floor. Here we are standing in the center of the building. It is very ornately designed/decorated. It is really beautiful.





The kids had to follow tradition and lie down on their backs in order to look up and see the beautiful painting on the ceiling.


This is the what they were looking at up on the dome. Now, if we had taken the official tour I would have more accurate information as to names of everything. There was not enough time on this trip.

The Sterners are so easy to entertain, as you will see. Who needs toys or rides when there are revolving doors. Here H, Z and I are in. Aaron gets ready to jump in.

Not to be left behind in the "drama" department is younger sister. We should look for some theater opportunities for these yay-whos.


Next stopper the recommendation of former Madison dwellers was this restaurant, Della's Diner. Right when we walked in we were greeted by this yellow fellow. Since Hannah is often called "Hannah-Banana" (or HB for short) we had to get a shot of her next to this smiling guy.


All over the place there were things to look at. Some strange....





and some familiar. It was a little noisy in there to which our eldest replied, "I would love to work here." She is wired very differently than me. I guess she lives in a controlled chaos environment most of the time so this is not so out of the ordinary.





It was really fun because you could never fully take it all in. The great majority of things hanging from the ceiling were on pulley systems and in constant motion.
