School Bus, Girl Style

Yes, there is an upside to unexpectedly being forced to buy a new water heater.... namely, a big box! When these three girls get creative you are guaranteed to see a lot of style and color.

At first I drug my feet when they wanted to drag out enamel paint to adorn their box and then I decided, why not. This is how memories are made (esp. at our house because I don't usually---ok about never---let the kids paint with anything that is not washable). The girls had a great time as it was a beautiful day to be outside playing. Anyone want a ride?

Time For School

I can hardly believe that summer has come to a close. This year we send off 4 of 5 kids to school. Isaac is thrilled to be going and not a worry in the world. He will go to school with Elizabeth (2nd) and Zach (5th) while Hannah embarks upon the journey of middle school (6th).

The house was a buzz with excitement. When they went running out the door a strange silence filled the air. It was a brief taste of what next year will be like when Aaron heads off to kindergarten after 13 years of 24/7 caring for children (he was still asleep). Scott and I had our pancakes in a weird sort of precious one-on-one time. The tides are turning. I praise God that we can feel confident in their ability to be secure in who God has created them to be in a world that needs to see in them character that makes people question why they are different. They are prayed up and sent off under the protection of the Father. May His will be done in and through them.

Modern Day Sleepover

The girls and our beloved "adopt-not" had a sleepover somewhat recently and when I came downstairs to get them settled these are the arrangements they had set up. They each had made their own little home. Hannah and Emma were sleeping on the porch of their homes. Elizabeth stayed inside, protected from the elements. Here are the pictures I got when they were deep in slumber.
