Flashback Friday

A couple of years ago I had noticed that our dog Amos had been paying an unusual amount of attention to the under side of our kitchen table. These episodes would come and go. I just assumed it was in correlation with times where someone spilled something and Amos was merely cleaning up the leftovers.

Scott's parents happened to be visiting when the frequency of sniffing under there increased. After lunch the kids had all been excused when we decided to investigate. When the table was pulled apart this is what we found.

It seems that one of our children (who shall remain nameless to protect his/her identity.......until high school graduation that is) found a very convenient place to stash any food, vitamins, etc. that were not to his/her liking. The decayed food and pills were being ever-so-cleverly hidden in the pockets intended to store extra leaves for the table. Honestly because we have always had all the leaves in the table from day one I had completely forgotten that those pockets even existed. We could not help but enjoy a great laugh and be slightly impressed at the genius behind the act. What was perplexing to me was that we all sit in the same place every time so how food got stashed in both pockets remains a mystery.

This individual was reprimanded at a later time. Honestly, we could barely maintain composure while addressing the nature of his/her clever yet deceptive heart.

Jason did this as a kid, but he used the buffet table behind his chair and his dresser in his room.
